When I start to build my website, I know there is the software WordPress can help fast to build the website, in that time I event don’t want to use it due to I am the coder favorite. It is enjoying of the pain for the overcome the codes issue and to enjoy the successfully feeling after the goal is reached.
Some time is really painful for the CCS which need take a lot of time to adjust the parameter to beautiful the website but still not reach the aim I want, the frustration motion is upraised, the idea will come in my mind why not use WordPress to build it.
So I start to learn the WordPress, at first I need to install the WordPress to my local computer then find and watch the video at YouTube to find how to use the WordPress, it is free download from https://wordpress.org/download/, after serval days later I found WordPress is really good platform to use it, is absolutely provide the solution to avoid CSS and layout difficult time, which I struggle it for long time, it can build very well looking website not even to use any codes,
WordPress provides function to install template is very help tool, to just need to fill the up the blank place, the free plugin is help. Another important factor is the mobile friendly
Here is I used for my website, Astra as main theme, Elementor is tool for the edit page, WooCommerce for the online store, page visitor for the blog review count.
I used some free page template for my main page and also use some for my about page, Elementor is good plugin for the page edit
The big trouble is I use the PHP version 5.6 for my online schedule tool, it is operation both on local server and host server, but it is too low version for the WooCommerce, so I must up date it to version at least PHP 7.2, but suddenly I found the online schedule is not working any more, a lot of working to fix it, the most problem is come from the session usage. I will write another blog how to fix the PHP version upgrade
The next step is seamless to connect my online tool and power digest to WordPress, I also create another two digests to the WordPress. Install my logo on the website, due to I installed the WordPress as subfolder under domain, so modify the index file is necessary.
Now the new website is come out as results the totally difference appearance compare the old one, why we not use the new technology, so keep learning is important for the people life.
Build an online store was my dream for long time, now it is successfully to complete it, here is the process story.
1.Install SSL on the Domain
At first, I need to install the SSL certificate. Update web address URLs from http://, to https://.
the extra “s” means your connection to that website is secure and encrypted; any data you enter is safely shared with that website. The technology that powers that little “s” is called SSL, which stands for “Secure Sockets Layer.”
SSL certificates are a small data files that cryptographically establish an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browser remain private.
I did search on the google, some people post blog said, there is free SSL tickets canbe apply, so I did access that website, which is apply process is free, but pay monthly, so it more expansive than my domain host, $20 per years.
The I paid $20 at my host sever, I select my domain name tom-tool.com to install it I receive the tickets notice and how to install guide, but it is not easy for installation, I dig it down try to figure out, but after several hours, it is not clear for me how to install it, to be surprise when I back to my web server account to check the statues of the SSL again, I was found the host company installed for me successfully due to I was checked to install it automatic . I type my web address on google chrome search bar, but I found it is still showing the http: install of https:, I raise this question to support team then they provide extra code to past on the root .htaccess file, finally it is working for my web address
After I installed, I can’t access my WordPress control panel, I ask host server support team, they said, I need to install for http://tomlu0.freehostia.com/ which is WordPress installed address, so I am really want my WordPress to run within SSL certification protected due WooCommerce is installed at WordPress platform, I requested to swap the SSL tickets from tom-tool.com to http://tomlu0.freehostia.com/, but they said, no chance to do that after SSL installed, no way can swap it, I purchase another tickets for the WordPress installed address,
Both site install, it is working now? no, I found some page has padlock, some page padlock not show up, finally they found the reason behind is I built some page before the SSL installed, there was link wasconnect to http: so the Brower thought it is not safe connection.
2.Apply PayPal and Stripe for payment set up

Apply the PayPal was straight forward which is easy to set up and do the test, it is connect PayPal right way, the problem was PayPal not show the download products links after paid, I set up my first download products and paid $10 dollar use one of my email address, then I received from my account, the account was show only received $9.41, the fee is very high, after I paid it then it was not showing the download link in the received account. PayPal transfer the $9.41 dollar to my account within 24 hours, very fast.
In the meaning time I applied the stripe account, it was not difficult, they provided test key and live key, the problem I can’t connect it to my stripe account from online store when I did the test, I tried it many time and searched it the solution, some one said it is regards the plugin conflict, PHP version, the connection software, I tested many time then I can’t figure it out, I also online chatted with Stripe technical and sent a request to WooCommerce to looking for supports, in the last minutes I also most lost my confidence to continue my online store, due to I know the PayPal could not provide the download link, so I must set up the payment link from stripe
I tried to set up a tickets to looking help from my host sever experts, then told him why I could not connect to stripe, they responded back the security reason the web host server blocked the stripe website, after they unblock stripe website, then I tested again then, it is working good, connect successfully, then I did pay $10 dollar use my live key, checked the strip account, the $10 dollar was successful transfer to from my credited card to my stripe account, $10 pay, only received $9.41, the transfer fee is same with the PayPal, after paid use the Stripe, the download link was showing on the account and receipt, I downloaded my first products successfully, it was really reached my life celebrated goal.
4, create first online sell products
Now everything is set up, right to go, I started to create my first online products, I put the poems together I wrote at 30 years before and beautiful it with put some pictures on it , then I created a product as virtual and downloadable product, it is in my shop now, those poem was writing in Chinese language, it really worth to read, very cheap to download.
